I am a Cuban American born in Miami, Florida and raised in a small town in Virginia. I started my career as a Social Worker in a hospital in Miami as a discharge planner for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Although this work was rewarding, I realized that my passion was to work with children. I began my journey to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and while obtaining my hours to become licensed, I worked with clients from age 3 to adults who had been sexually abused. Over the course of my clinical experience, I grew a deeper passion for working with parents of infants, which is what brought me to become certified in Infant Mental Health and Infant Massage. With these certifications I was able to educate and train childcare workers in the importance of early detection and prevention. My last endeavor before opening my own private practice was working as a School Counselor. I had the privilege of helping parents navigate what to do once their child presented with academic challenges as well as working with children dealing with a variety of social and emotional dilemmas.
While living in Virginia, I had my own horses and truly loved being around them. They have always brought me a sense of peace and connection to nature. I recently became a Certified Equine Psychotherapist which has helped expand my services to individuals that haven't found resolution and healing through traditional talk therapy. Working along horses is a beautiful gift that I too receive benefits from.
I am a compassionate, empathetic, loyal, trustworthy and sensitive person. I look forward to serving the community in any way I can.
